Democrats played their role as well. We citizens share some responsibility too. We didn't pay attention, fixated on our own consumerism, and assuming the networks and papers were giving us an accurate portrayal of the risk we faced. Where there is no accountability to the voters, Congress acts as if it has no responsibility.
